Director’s Note: The GodGrandpa is a restrained, emotionally grounded drama inspired by real family history and the visual language of 1980s Hong Kong cinema. Performances should favour internal conflict, silence, and emotional weight over melodrama.
Storyline
Set in 1982 Hong Kong, a disciplined underground gambler who believes masculinity means carrying everything alone is forced to confront his pride when his wife defies his rules — challenging his understanding of strength, love, and partnership.
