Storyline
This is a public service announcement for CIVIX Canada, and more specifically, CIVIX’s “CTRL-F” program, which gives people tools to help fact check online misinformation that we all come across on a daily basis.
“The Interrogation” consists of three separate comedic scripts that all involve a detective interrogating different civilians about misinformation on the internet.
In each script, Detective Richardson is interrogating a civilian to find out why they spread misinformation online. It’s a dramatized and absurd setting for the so-called “crime” they committed, with a central message that everyone is at risk of falling for misinformation. The dramatic effect is meant to play into the ironic contrast of the funny dialogue.

Roles
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Lead | Detective Richardson | Male 35 - 50 Years old |
Description Detective Richardson takes his job very seriously, though in reality, he may not be so cut out for it. He tries to play into the persona of the bad cop, but is always fumbling and making mistakes, such as spreading or falling for false misinformation himself. Though he takes himself seriously, at the end of the day, Detective Richardson is almost always the butt of the joke, which also means that he’s the comedic force.

| Lead | Zach | Male 18 - 25 Years old |
Description Zach is a nervous teenager that doesn’t know why he’s being interrogated at first. When he’s told why he’s there, he realizes that he did spread misinformation offhand and apologizes for it. He becomes even more anxious and scared when Detective Richardson starts getting serious, but quickly feels relaxed when he realizes just how dumb Detective Richardson is.
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Principal | Marvin | Male 40 - 50 Years old |
Description Marvin is a middle aged man who has fallen for a couple conspiracy articles. He didn’t think much of them, and he was too busy with his life to double check if the information was true or not. Detective Richardson tries to teach him that it’s not that hard to fact check misinformation, but in the process, he convinces himself that Marvin is an alien
| Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
| Principal | Miriam | Female 65 - 75 Years old |
