Description (Playing Age: Early to Mid-20s)Character Description: Amir is a queer Arab man who has recently immigrated to Toronto with his mother. He is resilient, tender, and resourceful, but carries deep scars from his upbringing. Amir is navigating the tensions between his love for his mother and his need to live authentically. Sensitive yet rebellious, romantic yet guarded, he embodies the longing and resilience of diaspora life. Actor must capture both Amir’s vulnerability and his quiet defiance. This is a Gay Romance set on the Moon. We are seeking a romance cover leading-man. Reference: Mena Massoud Sex: Assigned-Male-At-Birth Gender: Male or Genderfluid, non-binary or any Languages: Arabic (native fluency required), conversational English an asset. Notes: Comfort with scenes depicting queerness, intimacy (kissing, staged sex scenes), and emotionally charged confrontations is required. This is a demanding lead role involving both raw emotional work and dreamlike, surreal scenes. Description (Playing Age: Late 40s to early 60s)Character Description: Salwa is Amir's mother - proud, fiercely intelligent, and hardened by years of personal and political turmoil. She loves her son but cannot reconcile it with her internalized societal pressures. Her affection is laced with judgment, and her vulnerability often masked by anger and control. Salwa is not a villain, but a complex product of her environment. Actor must have a strong emotional range and an ability to portray subtle shifts between love, fear, and rage. Languages: Arabic (native fluency required), conversational English an asset. Notes: Actor must be comfortable portraying intense, emotionally charged scenes, including topics of family conflict, queerness, and immigration.
