For the purposes of the series, 2nd Gen is defined as Canadian/US born with one or more parent born outside of Canada/US.
This opportunity is for one 2nd Gen 'child' (15-25yrs) plus one 1st Gen parent.
Candidates will shoot for approximately 14 days including travel - 2 days in their hometown and 9 days in the country of their parent's birth

Storyline
HOW I GOT HERE is an inspirational TV series where 2nd Gen Canadians and Americans between the ages of 15 - 25 embark on an adventure of a lifetime as they travel with their parent back to the country of their origin. They'll immerse themselves in special customs, enjoy thrilling local activities and reunite with important people from their parent's past. Through this experience, they will uncover firsthand the challenges and sacrifices their parent overcame to immigrate to North America. HOW I GOT HERE brings two generations closer together as they share an amazing trip that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
