We want to take a second to put out an official disclaimer of the subject matter of this piece. The films subject matter is distressing: the protagonist is a child who endures significant manipulation and abuse by a predator. It touch's on topics of pedophilia, grooming, self harm and suicide, which we fully understand is triggering for many. If you believe you will find a story like this difficult to work on, we would understand entirely, and we do not want you to put yourself in an uncomfortable position for this piece. The comfort and emotional safety of those involved is our first priority.

We can accept union and non-union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA. This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel.
While this is non-paid position, meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days and for any transportation required we can arrange for a ride for the actor during filming, and/or cover the cost of transit/a ride service.

Storyline
Isolated and depressed, a naive 14 year old seeks connection with others through social media and unknowingly falls victim to a 27 year old female groomer.
The story follows a young teen [CHARLIE] as they navigate their way through an evening after school with their abusive and obsessive adult online girlfriend [AMBER]. Charlie tries to lead a normal teenage life, spending time with their family [CAROL & KYLE], but Amber requires constant attention, requiring Charlie to be ready to deal with her emotions at any moment. As the night progresses Charlie is forced to ignore Amber in order to keep their relationship a secret from their family, which upsets Amber greatly. Amber's impulsiveness leads her to steadily taking more and more intense actions to get Charlies attention, leading up to faking her suicide. Charlie is forced to deal with the idea that they caused someone's death, making them venerable and easy to manipulate.

Description MUST BE 18+! Charlie experiences something no child should ever have to experience and we believe to ethically create this film, Charlie must be played by an adult. An isolated young teen, Charlie, is in high school and enjoys art more than anything other subject. They don't really have any friends or a close relationship with their family, which is what lead them to using the internet to find friends or something more than that. They found someone who was interested in them, Amber, someone who was nice and originally said she was 17, but once they were in a relationship disclosed she was actually 27 and started to become a lot meaner. This adult women is their only friend, the only person who pays attention to them, who says she loves them, while also trying to control every part of their life. A troubled women, Amber, with no job, no friends, and no life outside of her bedroom has found someone naive enough to trap. She knows that her being 10 or more years older than the people she loves is not entirely good, but anyone her age hates being around her. She craves connection, love, intimacy, but has no idea how to have any of those things in a healthy consensual way. She knows how to say and do the things that get her what she wants, weather or not what she is doing is morally right. Her presence is felt throughout the entire piece, even when she is not shown on screen because of how much power she holds over Charlie. | ||
