The CBC Actors Conservatory is recognized industry-wide as a vital hub for spotting and supporting exciting and original onscreen talent. This full-time, creative and professional experience has launched close to 100 actors since it began and allows actors to expand their skills while empowering them to navigate career and marketplace opportunities. Award-winning actor and creator Rebekah Miskin is the recipient of The ROCKIE for Emerging Talent at The Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards! You can catch her as WENDY in several episodes of the FX/HULU series, NINE FILMS ABOUT TECHNOLOGY. In addition, Rebekah created the web series, NIGHT OWL which had its World Premiere at SXSW to stellar reviews & sold out screenings. Indiewire said of NIGHT OWL “The Best Independent TV Series at SXSW — Memo to Distributors”. The Globe & Mail’s John Doyle said: “NIGHT OWL has the layered richness of long-form storytelling in its brief, considered response to life. Nothing unfolds quite as you’d expect in this charming but meaningful piece of whimsy.” Rebekah also won the Alan Sawyer Award for Excellence in Media for her work on NIGHT OWL. Previously, RM was awarded Bell Media’s grant for CHECKING OUT, a short she wrote, directed & acted in. She received her Masters in Media Production from TMU [fka Ryerson University] on full Scholarship, and NETFLIX chose Rebekah for the Netflix Diverse Voices Fellowship at The Banff World Media Festival.
