The CBC Actors Conservatory is recognized industry-wide as a vital hub for spotting and supporting exciting and original onscreen talent. This full-time, creative and professional experience has launched close to 100 actors since it began and allows actors to expand their skills while empowering them to navigate career and marketplace opportunities. The "Close Ups" are original character driven pieces that allow actors to showcase and explore dramatic scenes and characters that excite them.

Christine L Nguyen (She/Her) is a Pan-Identifying Vietnamese/Chinese story teller based in Tkaronto. She is a graduate of TMU's Theatre School Acting program and a Factory Mechanicals Alumni. Christine is a second generation Canadian who is continually working to deepen her craft. Her select film/TV credits include Simulant (Wango Films/Mongrel Media), Pawsitively Perfect (Reel One Entertainment), A Christmas Melody (Lifetime), The Bold Type (NBC), Nurses (Global) and Star Trek Discovery (CBS).
Storyline
Kinara and Celeste are in a washroom nightclub recovering from an embarrassing mishap that happened minutes before. Kinara, having come out late in her life, is trying to navigate what it means to be pan-sexual in a queer environment. She soon learns that sometimes the most resistant people are the ones closest to her.

Description
Female, late 20s -early 30s, any ethnicity. Queer/Masc presenting. Celeste and Kinara have been best friends since first year university.They're love for each other is deep but platonic. Despite her age she is definitely the more mature one of the two. Identifying her queerness at a young age has been tough for her. She was often bullied or fetishized by folks who, in the past, end up leaving her. Because of this, Celeste is very protective of her community.
