The CBC Actors Conservatory is recognized industry-wide as a vital hub for spotting and supporting exciting and original onscreen talent. This full-time, creative and professional experience has launched close to 100 actors since it began and allows actors to expand their skills while empowering them to navigate career and marketplace opportunities. The "Close Ups" are original character driven pieces that allow actors to showcase and explore dramatic scenes and characters that excite them.
Ryan Rosery is an actor, writer, director. He was born in Scarborough, Ontario and has had a passion for the arts since the age of 8. Ryan began acting professionally at age 16 and through the years has had the opportunity to appear in various projects such as Mayor of Kingstown, Riverdale and Batwoman. Ryan is signed to RED Management out in Vancouver, BC where he had lived from the years 2018-2021.
Amidst the pandemic, Ryan starred as ‘Tray’ in the feature film “Bite of a Mango”, which had its world premiere at the American Black Film Festival in Miami. The film garnered a nomination for Best Original Screenplay, and was the winner of ReelWorld Film Festival’s “Audience Choice Award”. Due to having a successful festival run, “Bite of a Mango” was swiftly licensed by AMC streaming platforms, and is now available via Amazon Prime Video.
In addition to being an actor, Ryan is also a co-founder of BDB Productions inc. BDB has produced multiple short films that have gone on to screen at international film festivals, and made available for streaming via CBC Gem. In addition, BDB Productions successfully staged “Judas Noir”, an adaptation of “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” by Stephen Adly Guirgis. This production earned the company their first Dora Mavor Moore award nomination, in the Best Ensemble category. Ryan's driving motivation for establishing BDB Productions was to uplift Black voices and bring them to the forefront of the entertainment industry. He is one of seven dedicated members united by this
common purpose. Currently residing in Toronto, Ontario, Ryan remains devoted to his artistic journey and career. You can catch Ryan in Lenz Films’ upcoming feature “It Comes in Waves” and Ron&Aussie Productions “Morningside”.
