Storyline
This is a "nursing simulation", a video which demonstrates a scenario that could happen within a health care setting between health care workers and patients. It will be used to educate leadership competencies amongst nursing students at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
This simulation focuses on ensuring quality and safety through the case of Mr. Singh, an elderly man originally from Southeast Asia, who suffered a stroke recently. In addition to the stroke, Mr. Singh, also has diabetes, arthritis, and hypertension. As a result of the stroke, he will require ongoing rehabilitation in the community.
This Nursing Simulation will demonstrate collaborative, interprofessional care planning for Mr. Singh to ensure continuity of care, safety, and to reduce risk of complications and adverse effects.
