Storyline

“The brotherhood between two childhood friends, Sheaqwan and Kayden are tested as they navigate their way through the last year of high school.”

Description SHEAQWAN, 17 (principal) early 20s, black, male, must be able to dribble basketball, must be able to speak OR mimic MTE (multi-culture Toronto language, also known as Toronto slang.) SHEAQWAN is a 17 year old teenager who dreams of playing college basketball with his best friend Kayden. Sheaqwan all his life has watched tragedies happen where he grew up, which has ignited this dream of his to move away to college with Kayden, his right hand man. He is athletic, charismatic and smart, but can be assertive and impatient. Sheaqwan can get defensive of Kayden and has also a tendency to code-switch depending on his surroundings.Additionally he possesses a blunt manner and can't be easily persuaded especially if he already made his mind up.

Description KAYDEN, 17 (principal) - early 20s, black, male, must be able to speak OR mimic MTE (multi-culture Toronto language, also known as Toronto slang). KAYDEN is a 17 year old teenager who is torn between staying in his crime-ridden neighbourhood or attending college with his best friend Sheaqwan. He is loyal and disciplined, but can also be rude and arrogant. Kayden enjoys hanging out with his older brother Deshawn and Sheaqwan; whom he considers as a brother. However when Sheaqwan is busy with studies or practises he would occasionally hang out with his friend CK, whom he would more likely do illegal activities with.

Description DESHAWN, 26 (support) - early to mid 20s, black, male, must be able to speak or mimic patois (Jamaican accent). DESHAWN is the antagonist. He is 26 years old. He was born in Jamaica and was raised by his grandparents until he migrated to Elmdale at the age of 16. Due to the tragic death of his father, he has taken it upon himself to become Kayden's father figure. He has been involved in several illegal activities and started a drug ring within Rexdale in an attempt to take care of his family. Deshawn is street smart but is riddled with narcissistic behaviours, such as being aggressive and brazen with others, and being discourteous and Judgmental.If something doesn't go his way, he will do anything to make sure it goes according to his liking.

Description MRS. JONES, 36 (support) early 30s to late 40's Black, Indigenous, and people of colour (BIPOC), female. MRS. JONES is 36 years old. She has been working at Elmdale Heights for years as a guidance counsellor. She favours Sheaqwan and believes he has high potential. However she is convinced that Kayden is a lost cause. Mrs. Jones thinks highly of Elmdale heights and wants others to believe that too. Mrs Jones is sensible but however can be very vain.

Small Principal	Brianna	Female 19 - 25 Years old
Description BRIANNA, 17 (support) early 20's - Black, Indigenous, and people of colour (BIPOC), female. BRIANNA also known as Bri is a 17 year old teenager who is close to Sheaqwan and Kayden. She was born and raised in Elmdale and has a wise and humble personality. Despite not being as close to Kayden anymore, she still has love for him and wants to see him do his best. She also wants to leave the neighbourhood she lives in and attend college. Bri comforts Sheaqwan through dark times and admires his strength and perseverance. She is not afraid to tell Sheaqwan what she feels and will let him know if he's in the wrong.
