We open on CARL and his friends, . Carl is re-enacting Pulp Fiction for his friends. He'll start with the classic dance scene, segue into the scene where Uma Thurman overdoses and John Travolta brings her back with a shot of adrenaline to the heart (he uses a pillow and a turkey baster) then transitioning to the part where Samuel L Jackson looks in the breifcase and from the audience pov all we see is a golden glow.....
We will cast the role of CARL in-person and the FRIENDS via self-tape.

Principal (PP) | CARL | Male 25 - 40 Years old |
Description Open Ethnicity. GREAT improv / comedy skills, comedic timing et al. CARL is describing an iconic film he's just seen to his friends, in a way that is high energy and overly enthusiastic. He has low selfawarness, which makes Carl 'THAT GUY' in his group of friends. He is passionate about what he loves, he can be quite charming, he is likable and very watchable, he can be quite innocent about some stuff and shocking with other stuff. He is NOT a douche. Think guys like Chris Farley, Kevin Hart, Christ Pratt's 'ANDY DWYER' character from Parks&Rec or Sam Richardson from VEEP. This is a wonderfully challenging role and we need to find that special someone who can bring Carl to life!! |

Description Open ethnicity. Carl's friends - They are all used to Carl's antics, but not entirely fans of his story telling style, which as described is somewhat enthusiastic. Some would say overly enthusiastic. Great expressions/reactions/dead-pan looks, eye-rolls. We're looking for actors in these roles who understand comedy, timing and improv. Actors who aren't afraid of a bit of stillness, even in something as energetic as this. It will be these looks, glances, shrugs, eye-rolls that give us some 'magic' with the Friends. Ideally we are looking to cast 2 M / 2 F. |
