These one-day shoots are called “VOICE” and they are professionally produced 5 minute productions designed to showcase the writer’s voice and one of their feature length projects in development. VOICE productions are a carefully crafted moment or scene that connects an audience to what’s at the heart of the writer’s feature. These pieces will be screened at an Industry Showcase event for The Norman Jewison Film Program and will eventually be available online through the CFC’s YouTube channel for further viewing.
Tannaz Keshavarz-Agulto is an Iranian-Canadian writer and producer based in Toronto. Fearless and edgy storytelling is her vibe. She’s drawn to the reckless, the misunderstood and the messy. She loves to find the heart in tragedies and the fears that live deep in the undercurrent of everyday life.
Currently, Tannaz is a resident of the CFC Norman Jewison Writers’ Lab. In 2024, she was selected into Reelworld's Emerging 20 program. She recently founded her production company, ROOM 13 FILMS INC. focusing on original, bold character-driven stories. Under her banner, she's developing a diverse range of projects. Recently, she created and produced a proof of concept for her original tv series, TOP OF THE BLOCK which is currently available on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.
Previously, she worked as a Literary Associate at Play Management under Andrew McCann Smith. She also, was a Casting Director where she worked on acclaimed projects such as Crave’s BRIA MACK GETS A LIFE, Starz's BOXCUTTER and CBC Gem's REVENGE OF THE BLACK BEST FRIEND. Tannaz was nominated for a 2026 CSA achievement in Casting for BOXCUTTER.
When she’s not working 24/7, you’ll likely find her on the couch with her dogs and husband, binge-watching horror films.

Storyline
After the death of their mother, three distant siblings reunite at their family home the night before the funeral. However, it turns into a reunion from hell when a cursed family heirloom unleashes evil forces unknowingly caused by their own doing. Inspired by the Persian folklore, SANG E-SABOOR.

Ellie’s resilient at avoiding but also holds onto a lot of guilt especially, for leaving her siblings behind. Please note that this character is a first generation Iranian-Canadian who doesn’t want to learn more about her culture because it’s a source of pain for her. | ||

Until he becomes possessed where he’s going to make sure his sisters know exactly how he feels. Please note that this character is first generation Iranian-Canadian.
