Description
60s–70s | Male | Hispanic/Latino

Hector is a proud, once-independent man whose life has been drastically changed by a debilitating stroke. Unable to move or speak normally, he now relies on Lynn and Carlos for nearly everything.
The story unfolds through Hector’s eyes, making him its silent emotional center. Though unable to communicate easily, he remains deeply aware of everything around him, witnessing the tension between his caregivers and the loss of his independence.
Physically vulnerable but emotionally strong, Hector maintains his dignity and resilience despite his profound frustration.

Role typeRoleGender & Age range
LeadLynn HernandezFemale 40 - 45 Years old
Description
40–50 | Female | Latino/Hispanic
Lynn is Hector’s devoted daughter and primary caregiver. Organized, capable, and fiercely protective, she has taken on nearly every aspect of her father’s care, leaving her emotionally and physically exhausted.
Her fear for Hector’s wellbeing has made her controlling and increasingly impatient, especially with her husband, Carlos. Her frustration comes from exhaustion and the pressure of feeling solely responsible for her father.
So focused on caring for Hector, Lynn sometimes forgets to simply be his daughter.
Caring. Controlling. Exhausted. Protective. Impatient. Overwhelmed.

LeadCarlosMale 40 - 45 Years old
Description
40–50s | Male | Hispanic/Latino
Carlos is Lynn’s husband and Hector’s son-in-law. He genuinely cares about Hector but doesn’t share Lynn’s intense sense of responsibility, creating ongoing tension in their marriage.
Already stretched between work and family, Carlos becomes defensive when Lynn criticizes his efforts. He isn't neglectful—he simply approaches Hector’s care more casually than Lynn does, leading to frequent clashes.
Beneath their arguments are two exhausted people struggling to communicate while carrying the same difficult burden.
Well-meaning. Defensive. Frustrated. Overworked. Caring. Human.

LeadSamanthaFemale 25 - 35 Years old
Description
20s–30s | Female | Open Ethnicity
Samantha is Hector’s warm, professional nurse who brings a calm, compassionate presence into the family’s strained dynamic.
Patient and observant, she treats Hector as a person rather than a responsibility. Her presence highlights the difference between genuine caregiving and the mechanical routine his family has fallen into.
Though she has limited screen time, Samantha is perceptive and quietly notices more than Lynn and Carlos realize.
Warm. Compassionate. Professional. Observant. Reassuring.
