Storyline
The Way You Dance is a dance-driven drama about a successful choreographer (Kyle Toy) returning home to British Columbia to care for his estranged father (Tzi Ma) with terminal cancer and finds redemption, healing, and purpose by mentoring a diverse community dance class — including a transgender teen struggling to live authentically.

Description Please submit actors who are 18+ of South Asian descent for this role. We encourage submitting actors who are gender queer and are also open to auditions from actors who are comfortable depicting someone living with gender dysphoria. Dance experience necessary (formal training is not mandatory but this role requires quite a bit of dancing) and we will be asking for a dance reel/tape with audition. Confident yet vulnerable, Angel is exploring their/her gender identity while finding freedom and self-expression through dance. Still Anjul and he/him to their family, Angel struggles to find their/her way as a genderqueer person. Guided by Twinkle’s mentorship, she/they gradually embraces her/their authentic self, navigating acceptance at home and within their/her community. Please note that there are scenes with physical intimacy/sexual content in the script. | ||
