Storyline
Over a single day in Vancouver, we follow the lives of three Indigenous sex workers, December, Tamara and Aaron, as they become intrinsically linked through chance and relation, experiencing life and loss while above all else are just trying to survive another day.
Roles
Role type | Role | Gender & Age range |
Lead | TAMARA | Female 25 - 38 Years old |
Description Tamara (late 20s/early 30s, Indigenous) is a migrant Indigenous sex worker originally from an unknown federally unrecognized Indigenous community in Southern California. She has been visiting Vancouver on six month stints using travellers Visas. She makes her money under the table doing full service work. Tamara is resilient, if chaotic and secretive. She met December through community in the DTES and the two became fast friends. In messy and forgetful fashion, she mixes up her current Visa due date and realizes she has less than twenty four hours to get back to America. Easy to rile up, she ultimately loves her friends and truly means well to those who show up for her. LEAD | ||

Lead | DECEMBER | Trans-female 28 - 40 Years old |
Description December (30s, Indigenous) is a two-spirit Indigenous trans woman originally from Manitoba who has lived in the city of Vancouver for almost 10 years. She is a harm reduction worker, has lived experience as a sex worker, is a fiercely loyal friend and very independent. December has become close friends with Tamara over the past year after meeting through community. She has family connections in the city in her cousin Anne and Aunt TIna but spends the day dodging persistent and mysterious phone calls from home [specifically her mother] while choosing to help her chosen family. She has a passion for the arts, particularly writing and drawing, a practice she does frequently but doubts her own potential in. LEAD |
