If we are interested you will be sent a self-tape invitation. Call backs will be at Vancouver film school (151 W Cordova St, Vancouver, BC V6B 1E1) to do the audition in person. We are open to everybody who is interested in our project but we aim to cast actors of brown ethnicity to authentically reflect the setting of the story.

Storyline

Set in a Middle Eastern country in the 17th century, Raid is a master of war and loyal to his country, but he suspects the king he believes in is responsible for the murder of his brother. His personal strength is not able to fight against the whole country, so in order to find out the truth and revenge for his brother, he is willing to contribute his soul to the three witches to complete the ritual to obtain the legendary dark power. Though he fought against this force with the strength of his humanity and his soul, revenge drove him to kill the king he once believed in in return for the betrayal of someone closer to him. This betrayal made him completely give up his humanity and reason, and completely become the legendary demon.

Description Raid Khan is the master of war in the Kingdom of Mughlai. He is a tactical genius who plays chess while everyone else plays checkers. After the death of his brother, Raid sees an opportunity to seize the throne by framing the king for the murder. Realizing he cannot do this alone, he sells his soul to the Sisters of Serena, a guild of witches who grant him their support and supernatural powers.

Description King Shahjahan hails from a long line of royalty in the Kingdom of Mughlai and is the reigning king during the events of the Master of War. He is a cruel man who indulges in all of life’s many temptations and rules with an iron fist. His family has been engaged in a prolonged conflict with the Dead Saints, but Shahjahan lives in fear of them. The most respected and feared member of his council, Raid, decides to usurp the throne for himself, leaving the king without any allies.

Description Humeira is Raid’s sister-in-law and a self-proclaimed witch. She is the widow of Raid’s brother, Rafeh, and has been spiraling into despair since his death. Humeira is obsessed with knowing the future and spends her time reading tarot cards, to the point where she might misinterpret the events she glimpses. Once considered royalty due to the high status of her husband and brother-in-law, she has been living in squalor since Rafeh’s death.

Description The Sisters of Serena are a trio of witches who are enemies of the crown. They wield supernatural abilities and offer to grant humans powers in exchange for their souls. As key members of a cult known as the Dead Saints, they recruit Raid to join their ranks and use their dark powers to help him seize the throne.

Description The king's guard, charged with the solemn duty of protecting King Shah Jahan, is both loyal and formidable. Selected from among the most skilled and disciplined soldiers of the Maughrai kingdom, these elite guards were well trained and maintained an unwavering vigilance against the monarch. Their presence is a constant reminder of the king's authority and the precariousness of his rule. In this atmosphere of fear and betrayal, the king's guards stand at the last bastion of order and grapple with the dual challenge of protecting the monarch and dealing with the ever-present threat of betrayal in the court.

Description They looked simple and stately, and they were the most loyal attendants around King shahjahan. They still don't have any conversation, just movement. They only dare to curl up in fear while Raid uses its powers. They may be loyal, but they will only put their own lives first. For them, as long as they serve those with high power, it does not matter whether they are King shahjahan or not.

Description Dannia: The more mysterious and ethereal sister, Dannia's powers lie in divination, foresight, and observation. She is often seen as the silent but profound observer who guides events from the shadows;Syra: Syra is the most ruthless, her loyalty to Zarah and Dannia is absolute, but she often shows impatience, and she is more eager to see the beginning of the war.
