Victoria grew up between the city of Thunder Bay and their community of Migisi Sahgaigan First Nation, which allowed for both an urban and traditional upbringing. Victoria grew up dancing traditionally as a jingle dress dancer and a fancy shawl dancer, attending pow wows and ceremonies alongside their family and gives thanks to their mother Bonnie Anderson, and father Ken Gardner, for ensuring they grew upThe CFC’s “In Character” Productions are original, cinematic character driven 2-hander scenes, written by the writers and directed by the directors in the Norman Jewison Film Program. These are intended to deepen our filmmakers appreciation of cinematic character creation and working with actors within a very contained on-set experience. Actors involved in these productions will have the opportunity to work with 2 different directors as they direct them in the same scene and these produced scenes will be made available later in September for the actor’s reels. surrounded by the Anishinaabe culture. As they grew older, their love for sci-fi and horror films and books grew as well. Now as an established filmmaker, Victoria is now moving into the sci-fi and horror genres and wants to contribute to the growing Indigenous futurism content through their work.
