Roles
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
LeadGrandma JoFemale 50 - 70 Years old
Description
Indigenous Grandmother. Shy and reserved. Doesn't smile often. Has to be able to gently cry.
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
Co StarAlanaFemale 13 - 18 Years old
Description
Indigenous teenager. Prefferably 15-17, but would consider 13-18. Typical miserable teenager going through hormone changes. Rebellious look. Outsider. Would be open to authentic "non-actor" casting, but would prefer actors, as this role also requires a cry scene.
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
Co StarYoung AlanaFemale 5 - 8 Years old
Description
Indigenous young girl. Alana is sweet and innocent, and always has a burst of energy. She's very interested in random little things. This role is open to any Indigenous girl who fits the age description, regardless of experience or training.
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
Co StarWinonaFemale 17 - 27 Years old
Description
Indigenous female. Very cruicial role. Winona is very wise. She helps shape the entire script. However, she's a memory of Grandma Jo. She is not actually alive, therefore has very limited lines. Actor must be able to play one of those "conscience" roles... almost like a ghost. Voice and delivery is very important.
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
SupportingOnidaFemale 50 - 75 Years old
Description
Indigenous. Onida is the leader of a support group for trauma survivors. She grew up in a residential school and is helping others to overcome their trauma.
