Storyline
The “Open-Air Flight Experience” takes visitors back in time and into the air in World War I (WWI) aircraft to experience realistic aviation scenarios. This media piece will convey the challenges and realities of flying early combat aircraft through the sights, sounds, and actions that pilots would have experienced at the time.

2x Male actors - see details below. All filming that involves actors will take place on the ground. Actors will NOT be in the aircraft in the air. All stunts will be performed by pilots.
Roles
Role typeRoleGender & Age range
LeadTALENT 1: German Pilot #1 & Royal Air Force Pilot #1Male 18 - 27 Years old
Description
Age Appearance: Late Teens - Early 20s

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Preferred features: Slim build, height from 5”2-5”7. We will be looking for actors of below average height and weight due to historically accurate costuming considerations.

Special Skills: Does not require any stunt work or special skills.

Part 1 Description:

The Taube is on the airfield, being prepared for flight by a small crew. Show pilot starting the plane, spinning the prop, and taking off. Showing the Taube being flown, the pilot uses the wing warping controls to fly the plane but lack of manoeuvrability and exposure to the elements is clear.
Part 2 Description:

A pilot and an observer fly over enemy territory. The observer hangs over the edge of the aircraft to point the camera toward the ground. The pilot does his best to avoid “Archie” anti-aircraft explosions while holding the plane steady. The photographer struggles with the camera but ultimately succeeds and signals success to the pilot who turns to fly back to base.

Close up shots in the cockpits as both pilots display skill and control over the aircraft despite difficult conditions. The SPAD manages to position itself behind the Fokker and fires, downing the German aircraft.
