This is for a proof of concept for a half-hour comedy development package that will be pitched to networks later this year with the potential of being picked up. Rehearsal Date will be Week of April 22nd (Half Day)
Storyline
A group of incompetent and narcissistic employees work for local tabloid-based publication, The Buzz Room. With a dwindling budget, the team never ceases to stoop too low to garner success for the page - at whatever cost.

Shanice has absolutely zero experience working with a news publication, in fact she’s got zero experience working anywhere. She found the position through a posting Taylor made on Craigslist. Her out-to-lunch behaviour is nothing short of eccentric, but her unconventional ideas and loyalty to the company prove her to be a recurring asset. She truly embodies the audience that the publication caters to and is often the one pitching new stories as a result of her social media addiction. Shanice has no sense of shame and is likely to commit acts most people would find humiliating, disgusting, or appalling. | ||

The only issue is that she doesn’t run social media, she runs errands. Although fully competent, she’s a definite push-over, allowing her coworkers to treat her like something of a human-punching bag. What the rest of the office doesn’t know is that Rosalyn can be just as manipulative, conniving, and power-struck as the rest of them if given the chance. She learns how to influence her co-workers through the use of blackmail, gaslighting and reverse-psychology. | ||

She feels she has a good-natured sense for journalism that clashes with the office's unprofessional antics. But the truth is that she’ll cut any corners to see her name in lights. Her pride is challenged by the office, especially by her co-worker Rosalyn, who has no work experience but much better ideas. According to Alicia, she’s the only qualified journalist at The Buzz Room; however, the quality of her work would prove otherwise. | ||
