THE ACTRA Toronto DIGITAL SELF-PROMOTION REGISTRY AGREEMENT: https://dsp.actra.com/agreement/
When an ACTRA member places the recording of a performance in which they appear on digital media for the purpose of attracting more business as an actor or performer, that is digital self-promotion. A Digital Self-Promotion (DSP) piece may promote your skills beyond those covered by existing ACTRA agreements or guidelines. For example: short-duration, live stand-up, self-recorded singing or busking piece; a short-duration, self-recorded magic demonstration; or your recorded performance as an emcee for a live show. A Digital Self-Promotion piece may also promote your film, television, radio, stunt or other performance skills through the use of original scenes, monologues, scripted material or clips. Digital Self-Promotion pieces may also include scripted or unscripted performer-created podcasts where such podcast is not monetized. Monetization includes, but is not limited to, income generated through subscriptions or advertising. Each ACTRA Member appearing in a DSP shall ensure they are in good standing with the union and register such work on the Digital Self-Promotion Registry. Digital Self-Promotion pieces may also include performer-created online projects for performer owned channels (including but not limited to YouTube or Twitch), provided such content is not monetized, or otherwise creates a production that is under the jurisdiction of an appropriate ACTRA agreement or guideline. An example of such channels includes ‘unboxing videos’ and personal opinion pieces.
