Storyline
Brotherhood is a 7 minute short film. This sports-drama follows two childhood friends as they undergo an initiation ritual to become assistant captain on their college hockey team. The pressure of the competition forces Laurence and JP to choose between each other and the community of brothers on their team.
The two are summoned by their captain Hunter in a cult-like ceremony and given a trial to determine who is worthy of becoming assistant captain. They must prove their dedication and loyalty to their brothers which puts their friendship to the test.
The film has a satirical take on the intensity of hockey culture and explores themes of found family, how our identity and purpose is tied to our community and whether we know what’s best for those we love.
