Dirk
Dirk is the star of the internationally famous superhero film series “Thunder-Fist”. he is a strong, confident, and chivalrous hero, but when discovering that the newest installment in his franchise is set to fail, his more selfish and naïve instincts take over. Dirk has lost sight of what brought him to acting in the first place: the simple joy of art. Without that drive, he has become a hollow shell, seeking nothing but to maintain his reputation and career. He’s not malicious, but he’s brash and naïve, which leads him into conflict. Dirk desires something more from his career – but he’s having trouble finding it.
Albert
Writer of the Thunder-Fist comic. Seeing little return from the massive financial success of the Thunder-Fist franchise, Albert has grown insular, retreating to his home. There, he works on his own personal writing projects, he’s not in it for the money – he’s in it for the joy of writing. Albert is an aloof and blunt man. Yet, despite his estrangement from his most famous work, he’s not bitter. He’s made amends with that part of his life.
Andrew
VOICE ONLY ROLE. Dirk’s long-suffering talent agent. Although we never see him onscreen, we can hear the tired notes that permeate his voice. He seeks to temper Dirk’s most eccentric and rash ideas, but he often lacks the fortitude to mount a resistance. He’s been in this industry a long time, and he’s worn out.
Sam
Sam is Albert’s grandchild. He’s just about Thunder-Fist’s biggest fan, and when Dirk comes to visit, he can barely believe his eyes. He’s excitable, charming, and outgoing.
The Burglar
The classic superhero crook. He’s well-muscled and moves nimbly from shadow to shadow. This guy is dangerous, irascible, and sharp witted. All that goes out the window, however, when Thunder-Fist catches him in the act.

Barbie
Barbie is the protagonist of our story. She is a very quiet individual who likes to keep to herself. She is a huge paleontology and mathematics nerd to the point of wearing shirts with science jokes on them. She usually dresses in oversized clothing to make herself seem small and unnoticeable. She doesn’t like being the centre of attention. She loves movies and music to the point of not being able to separate herself from it even for a second. Her favourite movie is “10 things I hate about you” and her current favourite artist is the newly formed band “Florence + the Machines”. She grew up on fairytales and those shaped her as a human. Being from a privileged Upper-Middle Class family from a fancier neighbourhood, she is often dismissed by her peers and mentors, leading to her developing a strong drive to prove them all wrong by entering her dream university with a full-ride scholarship. The cheating incident has been hard on Barbie because of the magnitude of it, thus leading to everyone hearing about it and talking about it. This puts Barbie in the foray, which she finds unsettling and uncomfortable. She also had strong and genuine feelings for Adam, even going as far as mentioning to Maya, how he might be the one. This crushes Barbie. She also tends to be one of the “not loudly opinionated” people, thus allowing people to often walk over her and giving them power over her. This combined with her rather non-confrontational nature forces her to seek other ways to deal with the fallout of the cheating rather than face it head-on
Maya
South Asian. Maya is a supportive friend to Barbie and someone with a very open world-view. She has her own internal struggles and conflicts which she keeps hidden away from people. She prefers presenting herself as a sweet girl who fits into the conventional norms just to get people off her back, when in reality she is strongly opinionated and moralled. She reads a lot, anything she can get her hands on. Her parents were first generation immigrants to the country and struggled to give her the life she has, thus, wanting her to go into a financially stable field such as medicine or sciences as they see it, but Maya wants to study literature and sociology. Her favourite writers include Meena Kandaswamy, Rabrindranath Tagore, bell hooks, Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott. Being from a family which is lower middle class with their fair share of financial struggles and also bouts with racism and prejudice, Maya sometimes dismisses Barbie’s life as being easy and even in this case doesn’t understand why Barbie can’t just confront Adam and get it over with. But her equally supportive nature and her loyalty and love for Barbie often overshadow this contempt. Thelma and Lousie is one of her favourite films. Her favourite musicians include M.I.A, A.R. Rahaman, Patti Smith, David Bowie and the Strokes. Coming from a religious family, Maya (though not religious herself) grew up with stories from Hindu mythology including the heavy emphasis on female goddesses, superstition black magic. This combined with her love for the Witch Trails and myths in general makes her slightly superstitious and interested in the sociological impacts of witchcraft. She doesn’t like showing off her vulnerability.
Amy
Amy is a lesser demon from Hell. They are more impish than imposing, and are often not taken seriously by other demons making them slightly insecure. This is warranted though as they lose deals by being impulsive and distracted. They hate demon stereotypes that humans believe in. They have this constant need to prove themselves but also a “devil-may-care” attitude (pun-intended). They try to be sly and manipulative but often fail miserably and resort to extremes and blatant bullying and blackmailing to achieve their goals. While they don’t draw attention with their physical stature, they definitely do with their words and presence. Their inferiority complex is so obvious that a little bit of prodding can crack them leading them to lose their composure.
