Theo is close with his mother, Lizanne, and is very resourceful, with a keen eye for geometry and a passion for fishing and exploring in nature.

Preferably mid-40's. Female. Caucasian. Dark, warm features - hair and eyes a focal point. Lizanne is the mother of Theo and a schoolteacher by occupation. A widow, Lizanne tries to raise Theo the best she can, passing on her learned joy, wisdom, and the long-lasting memories she has of her husband. Lizanne is calm, collected, and nurturing. She is also extremely knowledgable and an avid reader.

Must know current American Sign Language. The Interpreter has been assigned to aid Detective in their investigation. Normally a kind and approachable individual, Interpreter has reached the end of their patience with Detective. Though they are supposed to remain impartial, only providing their interpretive skills, their true feelings about Detective’s failings are threatening to burst forth.

The police detective is experienced and seasoned and yet, completely out of their depth. They had no idea what they were getting into when they took on this case. Their instincts may be sharp, but they are socially inept, coming off prickly at best and combative at worst.

Must know current American Sign Language. Suspect seemingly has no idea why they were brought in. Word has gotten around that Detective has been booking people who Sign without any other cause. They are somber and confused, yet there is a sly edge to their expressions and word choices. They walk the line of innocent and suspicious.

Captain takes their position of police oversite very seriously. So, when they discover one of their best detectives has been profiling Deaf people, they do everything they can to rectify the situation. A tall, imposing figure with a constant air of respectable authority even during casual conversation.
