The story is driven by Kai's decision to go against his mother's wishes and sneak out -- crashing Simon's night out with his friends. Simon is a university student (20-years-old) coming home for Thanksgiving weekend. Even though he loves his younger brother, Kai, Simon just wants to party with his high-school friends and forget that he has to grow up. However, when Kai sneaks out to join the party, the dynamic of Simon's night changes. Simon is now forced to balance his desire of reckless abandonment with being a good older brother to Kai. By the end of the film, Simon chooses to prioritize his relationship with Kai, who is in need of a supporting figure. *Note: actor will be drinking alcohol and smoking at a party. She is willing to put herself aside for the needs of her kids and, like any mother, wants to see her boys getting along. She tries to keep Simon and Kai reigned in, but knows when to let them make their own mistakes -- to a certain extent. She struggles to communicate her emotions and has high expectations of her kids, but she will always have a soft spot for her little boys.

Aidan is the rich friend of Simon's friend group. He is the one who has the house that everyone drinks at. Mr. Parsons is a grumpy old high-school english teacher -- the one that everyone hates. Back in their high-school days, Mr. Parsons had a sharp disdain for Simon and his friends because of their malicious pranks (usually targeted at him).

Kyla is Connor's stoner girlfriend. She also went to high-school with Simon and his friends, and wants to indulge just like the guys. *Note: actor will be drinking alcohol and smoking at a party. Prop cigarettes, prop joints, and prop alcohol will be used on set*

Becca is Simon's love interest. Back in high-school, her and Simon would flirt -- however nothing ever came of the relationship. Proudly non-binary with a strong rebellious streak, the Subject struggles to endure psychological torture in the Government re-education facility, while still desperately trying to hold onto their identity. **Performer must be comfortable presenting both as trans-masculine and as archetypal feminine (dress, make-up, heels) for the piece. Producers would like to prioritize submissions from performers who were AFAB, but identify as non-binary or gender nonconforming.

Female-presenting. Blind. With a magnetic easygoing personality, Penny is a bright spot in Taylor/Subject’s world. Penny navigates things with kindness, grace and good humour. **this role calls for someone who is blind or has low vision, producers would like to prioritize submissions from performers who are blind or have low vision.

Donny is a criminal and professional fixer/cleaner. At first, seemingly put together, he is a serious yet deeply troubled man on the brink of spiraling out. He medicates to help escape the demons of his past. Having come here to kill his destiny, he now faces it as he witnesses troubling visions through a hole in the wall of his Motel room. Average build and height, but not necessarily athletic, in his prime, but worn down. This character handles and uses a prop firearm. There will be an armor on set.

Pa is an angry drunk who dresses like an old trucker. Having come to town with his son, he is on a mission to exact revenge on the man who ruined his life. He sees this as the perfect chance to both rid himself of the past and finally make his son a man. Pa’s anger hides a deep feeling of guilt but manifests in his hair-trigger temper. Larger build and height preferred, but open to all applications. This character handles and uses a prop firearm. There will be an armor on set.

Boy is on his first road trip with his dad, Pa. He’s a bit too sensitive a kid, and Pa doesn't particularly care for it. Boy wants to impress Pa and win his approval, but is not ready for what will be asked of him, as he must choose between the life and death of a stranger. Average build, average height. This character handles and uses a prop firearm. There will be an armor on set.

The Priest is an elderly man in vestments who finds himself tied to a chair in a motel room. He is a man who has sought out his own absolution from the past and has almost convinced himself he has it. Despite a lifetime of inflicting pain on others, he feels no outward guilt; he’s above that. Average build and height, but still in good shape for his age. Will have prop firearm pointed at them. There will be an armor on set.
