She’s pale, has scraggly hair, and is often a hot demon mess with tattered clothes and yellow teeth. Often flipping from a regular child to a mischievous demonic goblin running up the wall and onto the ceiling or telling people how they are going to die. She loves her family, listens well to her father, and tries to show it in ways that make sense to her, often putting her at odds with others. She struggles to connect and make friends due to her demonic mind and she both loves and hates this. She is authentically and unapologetically herself. With the addition of the camera crew, it will be hard for her to turn down the demonic theatrics. Good for ratings! Bad for her family! Think Reagan from the Exorcist meets a young girl from Gravity Falls or the Owl House. He’s like a religious Paul Rudd type of guy who’s loyal, endearing, unassuming, and tries his best to approach life with optimism despite the challenges thrown against him on a daily basis. Unbeknownst to him he’s a hero to his family putting everyone else before him, but at the end of the day he’s tired and his tank is empty and it shows in his weathering face and subtle body language. She carries a great sense of humour and is well versed with sarcasm. Albeit a kind and loving mother and wife she exudes a slight undertone of being on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Much like a funny and frazzled Tina Fey, her cortisol is fried causing her to operate in a constant state of high alert waiting for the next disaster to strike. He’s a loving and protective older brother who delivers some great ribbing to everyone in the family. This is most likely due to Cassandra’s demonic energy which has closed him off literally and emotionally even more from his wife. Audition: This character has no dialogue but is featured as a physical comedic element in the background of another scene. Please prepare a self tape as if you’re logging into a website, browsing around for few beats, and then notice a camera has spotted you through a window. You can close your laptop and leave the room or get up and pretend to close the blinds. Please don’t make this exaggerated or campy. Keep it natural. 37 to 49 years old, man. Brenda’s ex-fiancé. Dave is an alpha, western outdoorsman: skiing, hiking, biking, skateboarding - you name it, he’s into it. He’s the kind of guy who tries to be clever and witty but it falls flat with his soon-to-be relatives. When Dad takes an ever increasing chunk of Brenda’s life after Mom dies, Dave pushes back. He takes off for Colorado when Brenda commits to taking care of Dad, finding the increased pressure and complications too much for his own sense of well-being. Fast forward a few years and Dave is back, with a plan to get Brenda back; well, sort of a plan. 3 shoot days plus 1 prep/rehearsal day 23, 26-27 June.
