Elvira
23 year old Elvira dissociates a lot. She often wishes she was somewhere else, and wonders how she ended up where she did. Her brain is as fragmented as her life is - as a young mom to five year old Leo. Elvira is fun, warm, and has so much love for the people around her. However, disappointing them seems to be the only thing she really manages. Actor should be comfortable with partial nudity, simulated sexual actions (one scene), and being underwater.
Leo
Leo is an imaginative and curious child. He absorbs everything around him and always tries to figure out how things in the adult world work. Leo tends to keep to himself and often finds loud kids annoying. He loves his pet goldfish more than anything, and wishes there was a way for the two of them to communicate. Must be comfortable being in a bathtub for one scene.
Dude 1
One of Elvira's friends. Elvira’s friend group is a bunch of hipster artists who collectively look down on the average Joe, but in reality live privileged lives where they are the center of the universe. They have known each other for a long time. We are looking for 3-4 actors who are inspired to engage in the development of their particular character in the friend group. Open to all genders.

Dad/Dan
Leo’s dad, Dan, is in his mid 30s. He’s an annoyingly charismatic guy who comes off as the most empathetic, responsible, and well put together man in the world. However, he cares about his image more than anything, and is deep down simply selfish. Dan loves living his part time bachelor’s life, but would never admit to it.

Woman/Ruby
Cool queer girl in a club bathroom. Makes out with Elvira and undresses her in the stall. Must be comfortable with simulated sexual actions. Open to female or non-binary performers.
ELEANOR
Eleanor is a young nine-to-fiver who is perfectly fine with the comfortable, middle-class life she’s building for herself. While her empathy can sometimes dip into passive-aggression, Eleanor tends to go along with David’s manic-depressive behaviour rather than stir the pot. She loves her cat, Toaster, more than anything in the world. Note: This is a physically demanding role, featuring a scene where Eleanor wrestles for an object with her boyfriend David. A professional stunt coordinator will be present on set and during rehearsal.
DAVID
David is more obsessed with looking like an artist than actually making art. A tortured soul worried that he might not actually be a tortured soul, he constantly spirals into himself rather than connecting with Eleanor. Deep down David wants to change, but knows it would require an unbearable level of vulnerability. Note: Must be comfortable being shirtless on camera, and wearing boxers and a t-shirt. This is a physically demanding role, featuring a scene where David wrestles for an object with his girlfriend Eleanor. A professional stunt coordinator will be present on set and during rehearsal.
Elara
In her early thirties. Female (includes female identifying). All ethnicities. Introverted, quiet, dedicated painter. She is passionate about her art and is seeking success and validation, regardless of its effects on her mental health. Not very sure of herself.
Helen
