Storyline
Cassidy, a backpacker who loves a true crime podcast, needs to keep her job. The issue is her job is to successfully sell solar panels door-to-door, so it’s not the easiest. When a seemingly harmless man invites her in to talk to her about the deal, Cassidy puts politeness over the bad gut feeling she gets about the guy. It’s as soon as sits down that she starts to notice warning signs - but her societal training, and the locked door, stops her from running. And maybe she’s overreacting! He’s probably harmless… or is he? As the man starts to worry her, Cassidy’s got to think fast. Without being rude, obviously.
Roles

Description
BRIAN (Lead)
Gender: Male. Age: mid 30s - mid 60s (open to different ages). Open ethnicity.

Brian is a man on his own. He doesn’t have a partner and he doesn’t have a dog, but he’ll be damned before someone knows he’s alone. When a young Cassidy knocks on the door selling solar panels, Brian’s nervous at first but then welcomes the company. The thing is - what he’s keeping to himself - and what the audience will never have confirmed nor denied for them - is that Brian quite likes killing young folks. Whether Cassidy could have been next in line we’ll never know, and nor will she. Throughout her stay, Cassidy can’t tell if she’s imagining things and this man could hurt her, or if he’s just harmless and a bit weird.

Tone: this is a dark comedy/drama. The situation is humorous without meaning to be - if everything goes ok in the end, it’ll be a funny anecdote. If it doesn’t, we were all fooled into thinking it was a funny anecdote. It’s based of a real life anecdote that turned out fine - but that might not always have been the case.
