Storyline
A young mother attends a support group where she tells the story about her child who was born with a disability. During the first few years with the child, she learns the challenges and priorities that she must place so she can protect her child, including placing the child in a Special Education program throughout Pre-school and Kindergarten. One day, a transfer to public school is brought to the mother’s attention by the teacher. She is told that the school has been dedicated to helping build a community where every child feels included and thinks it would be a great new start for the child. While hesitant, the mother takes a chance and transitions the child to the new school. On the first day, she is anxious for the end of the day, worried that she has made a wrong decision. But she soon realizes that she has made one of the best decisions for her child as she sees him enjoying the new school environment. The mother also discovers how bringing her child to school has also helped impact the rest of the children in his class.
