We can accept union and non-union actors through our student agreement with ACTRA. This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required. Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel. We offer transportation to the location and meals.
Storyline
This PSA will follow the story of Saeideh, a woman from Iran, who suffered torture and loss of her husband during the revolution in 1980s. She shares her struggles after coming to Canada and how a CCVT’s befriending volunteer program provides crucial support for her adaptation.

Description Ethnicity: Middle Eastern/Persian. A woman from Iran in her late 40s - early 50s. During the Iranian revolution, she was imprisoned for political reasons together with her husband, who was later executed. This PSA is based on the real story of CCVT’s client and will serve as a reenactment of Saeideh’s story. Embodies resilience, despite all of the terrible events that happened to her and her family. Wants to appear brave during the interview, and tries to hold back her emotions. Speaking Farsi is a huge bonus. | ||

Description An emphatic and respectful woman in her 30s. Volunteer at the Befriending Program at CCVT, which is created to provide support to victims of torture in an informal atmosphere. She is a beginner at her job. Throughout the story, she learns how to show support to Saeideh, while also becoming her closest friend. Caring, compassionate, unexperienced. | ||
