SHORT SYNOPSIS:1027 characters
On the night of a city shutdown due to a race
riot, well-to-do couple LUCAS and JULIA try
to enjoy a celebratory meal for Lucas’ recent
promotion. The couple’s evening is interrupted
by the appearance of a wounded young black
man, TYSON, suffering a gunshot wound. Julia
is sympathetic to his plight yet Lucas is
suspicious. Tyson claims he was the victim of a
stray bullet, When police officer HANK shows
up he displays a picture of a man wanted for
shooting a cop - it looks like Tyson. Tyson
overhears Hank and escapes. When Hank
figures out Lucas and Julia have been aiding the
wanted man, he gives Lucas an ultimatum -
present Tyson or face charges, an accusation
that could get Lucas disbarred. Lucas finds
Tyson and learns that he did shoot a police
officer in an act of self-defense; a claim the
police may or may not believe. In the end,
Lucas commits a selfless act that might save
Tyson’s life.

Lucas suffers from self-loathing.
