Directors Bio:

Samiramis Kia is a director, writer, and producer based in Toronto. After graduating with a degree in Interior Architecture in 2011, she made the life-changing decision to pursue her long-time passion for filmmaking upon immigrating to Canada in 2012. Since then, she has actively participated in various photography and film events across the globe, including notable locations such as Iran, Turkey, China, and Canada.

Her academic tenure at York University was marked by the recognition and acclaim of her films, with nominations at prestigious events and screenings in over fifty festivals, including the Oscar-qualified Tirana Film Festival in 2018. Notably, her project 'Land' received the esteemed Norman McLaren award at the MWFF (Montreal World Film Festival) in 2017.

Death of a woman brings three people together. These people have one thing in common: a sense of guilt connected to the life of the deceased woman. These confrontations help them move beyond their shame and reconnect with life; each in their own way.
