Storyline

Tony Award-winning actor Lena Hall will star in the new musical In Dreams from Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning and Olivier and Tony Award-nominated writer David West Read and multi-award-winning director Luke Sheppard – the team behind the smash hit & Juliet.
This original and exciting new musical uses Roy Orbison’s most iconic songs to tell a funny and poignant story about the former lead singer of a country rock band who, at a critical moment in her life, throws a party in a family-run Mexican restaurant to reconnect with old friends, while keeping her deeper motivations a secret.

Description Latinx. Playing age: 20-30 yrs. We are looking for someone with a strong and versatile singing voice. The character is from the Latinx community, so we are especially interested in any one with that heritage. NICOLE is Oscar's long-time girlfriend, and co-manager, and helps take care of the day-to-day responsibilities of running the restaurant. However, Nicole has a more challenging task in trying to break through with Oscar. She worries that there may be other reasons why her boyfriend is pulling away -beyond his lingering grief -- but struggles to confront him about it. All of this is made more difficult by the fact that Nicole is currently pregnant with Oscar's child.

Description Latinx. Playing age: 20-30 yrs. Onstage swing role covering Oscar and Tom as 1st Cover. We are looking for someone with a strong and versatile singing voice. Strong sense of comedy and great acting range needed. One of the roles that is covered is a character from the Latinx community, so we are especially interested in any one with that heritage. TOM: Is the head chef of Felices Sueños and brought up in a religious way. Despite the devotion Tom has demonstrated to both cooking and the Church, his true passion is music. He is an encyclopaedia of knowledge about Heartbreak Radio, and secretly dreams of performing onstage himself. Tom was introduced to the band by his parents, who had trouble accepting the fact that Tom was gay, and it was one of the few ways they connected. Tom then followed the solo career of Kenna, and received a much-needed boost from her at a moment when he was struggling with his sexuality and confidence. Overcoming a past of low self-confidence and loneliness, the band’s music saw him through this difficult time. He never suspected they would be here. In his restaurant. Singing. Total fanboy moment. He’s compassionate, kind and really open about how his faith has saved him. OSCAR: Owner Felices Sueños, Oscar of Is struggling to connect to his wife, devastated by the loss of his parents and, with mounting money worries. He gives Kenna a reassuring steer through her troubling news.
