Storyline

Wok Hei is about a young Asian-Canadian mother of two reconnecting with her cultural roots through the restoration of a rusty family wok.

Description MIXED-RACE, EAST ASIAN/CAUCASIAN or OTHER Andrew is Vivian’s younger brother. No scripted lines, but there is room for improvisation. Andrew is also a first-generation Asian-Canadian, and assists Vivian in trying to restore the rusty wok.

Description EAST-ASIAN Actually a great grandmother, but referred to only as “Grandma” by all in her family. She is an immigrant from Singapore, but Canton before that. Although the role is mostly improvised, English is her second language (Teochew and Cantonese being her native tongue), and will require an accent.
